The Andrew Cape Memorial Awards 2013
Since its formation in 1986, the Irish Association of Health Stores has recognised the need for a professional & ethical approach to health food retailing. In order to maintain high standards of training for members and their staff, the IAHS, in conjunction with the UK Health Food Institute, administers two key training programs each year, the Certificate & the Diploma Courses in Healthfood Retailing.
We are, once again, very grateful to the Natural Medicine Company for their generous on-going sponsorship of these programmes, and to the Cape family for their commissioning of the perpetual trophies awarded each year to the two highest achievers in the Certificate and Diploma exams.
Our renaming of the awards in memory of the late Andrew Cape offers a yearly opportunity to honour his outstanding contribution to our industry and to recall our determination to follow his example of unstinting attention to excellence in all aspects of health food retail with particular focus on staff training.
In April 2013, 8 Diploma & 17 Certificate candidates sat an invigilated exam.
The Andrew Cape Memorial Award for the Highest Achiever in the Certificate in Healthfood Retailing exam goes to Helen O’Reilly of For Goodness Sake, Dunmanway, Co Cork
The Andrew Cape Memorial Award for the Highest Achiever in the Diploma in Healthfood Retailing exam goes to Lisa Caulfield of Evergreen, Mainguard St, Galway
